The project has set itself the goal of providing useful guidance to businesses and young adults when the labour market is undergoing change. The network provides a transfer office for the exchange of information and knowledge in response to educational shortcomings. The transfer office set up by the network helps young people, businesses, administrative staff and policymakers become qualified in different ways to meet specific needs. The main objective is to share relevant information on training, study and work at the local/regional level so that young people are encouraged to stay in the area, particularly in light of current demographic changes.
The Network of Schools, Industry and Research for the Lower Weser Region is an excellent project.
Some 1,000 businesses, associations and research institutions across Germany submitted future-oriented projects to a competition on “Innovations across the Country – Rural Spaces Seen Afresh”. The Network of Schools, Industry and Research for the Lower Weser Region was awarded for its efforts to develop job prospects in the Lower Weser region. The association actively networks schools, businesses and research institutions under the theme “How can we shape the city of tomorrow?” The initiative’s objective is to halt the exodus of well-educated young people from the region and counteract the resulting shortage of skilled workers.
